Nebraskans for Better Governance seeks to explore and pursue policies that spur more competition in politics and elections and more innovation in policymaking. By doing so, our hope is that we will encourage highly qualified, thoughtful candidates to serve at all levels of government, preserving and promoting the Nebraskan tradition of keeping a government that is effective and responsive because it is close to the people it serves.

Nebraska has a long, rich history of bringing its government closer to the people it serves. Whether curbing the centralized largess that leads to bureaucracy or peeling back layers of partisanship that stifle progress, the Nebraska way recognizes that the more direct the representation, the more effective the government. Today, we are tasked with finding solutions to the modern problems of politics – how to make elections more competitive, policies more innovative, and politics less partisan and divisive.
